  • "Mindful Start brings joy, peace, happiness, and positive energy... and our students thoroughly enjoy the time they spend after school. We have been incredibly lucky to have Mindful Start at WNNS this past year and continue to be impressed by how their work with WNNS students affects them both in and outside of school. It is clear just how much Mindful Start students look forward to their weekly classes by the giant smiles on their faces, and we couldn't be happier to be able to provide such a beneficial after-school option to our families.โ€

    - Bryce Linthicum

(Former Education Director, Williamsburg Neighborhood Nursery School)

  • "Canโ€™t say enough good words about Miss Stav and her class. My son is taking the class every week for about 10 months since 3 and heโ€™s made great progress on communication and many other things. We really appreciate Miss Stav. Sheโ€™s nice, caring, fun, and understanding to kids, and speaks the language a kid would listen to. Iโ€™ve recommended her to all my friends and will be continually doing that.โ€

    - Flora Chen

    (Parent)

  • "Fabulous! I really appreciated the tangible practices Stav shared for identifying and naming emotions. And it is so powerful to understand the critical importance of recognizing the need to accept what is happening (even if you donโ€™t like it).โ€

    - Krista Lamoreaux

    (Parent)

  • "WOW!
I just got off the "bedtime routine" workshop zoom call, and decided to try just 2 simple tips tonight -the night light color change from purplish/blue to orange/red and read her 1 more book, and my kid is asleep 1 hour earlier. Yup, I will be implementing a few more of the tips to make her sleep routine better! Thank you!โ€

    - Carmen T

    (Parent)

  • "This seminar was so valuable to me as a parent and an educator.
The new perspective on how brains work will not only help my interactions with my children but will also
allow me to give myself some grace! Thank you!โ€

    - Karen Carty

    (Teacher, Parent)

  • "My daughter raves about yoga
or "yogurt" all day after she gets to
do this class. I'm so happy she has
an outlet like this especially while we
are still doing a lot of social distancing.
    She truly enjoys each one!"

    - Andrea M

    (Parent)

  • "I cannot begin to say how much my daughter looks forward to her time with Ms. Stav. My daughter is extremely hyper and Stav has such a gentle and fun way of engaging
    her throughout the time."

    - Christine M

    (Parent)

  • โ€œStav teaches the right combination of brain research tips and mindfulness strategies to help adults and children understand their emotions and how to recognize, label, and cope, with anxiety! She is a gem and has helped so many of us during this difficult time.โ€

    - Flo Terrill

    (Judy Center Coordinator)

  • โ€œA++. Stav is so knowledgeable about all children topics! I love hearing about the useful information she has to share. She is always so positive and kind. โค๏ธโ€

Kids Mindfulness is a healthy exercise and mind-body movement class, that teaches awareness, breathing, kindness, gratitude, patience, curiosity, sharing, and all feelings! • A: Yes. All Mindful Start teachers are certified Kids Yoga instructors and fully insured.

  • A: Any age! Mindful Start classes are conducted based on child development- so it's never too early to start. Mindful Start has taken all of the things we know -and don't know- about the essence of adult yoga and put it into a language that kids understand, to which they can apply both on and off the mat. You'd be surprised how many times we hear that children of all ages go home and practice songs and poses they've learned in class, even if they've spent most of the class time just sitting and listeningโ€“ that's also Mindfulness!

  • A: Attending a class weekly can have positive lasting outcomes on your child. We recommend a weekly or twice-weekly class, and at least a 3-5 week commitment, in order for your child to establish elements from class that can be applied without the instructor present. Consistency, especially for your child, is the best plan of action towards maintaining useful skills and clear results.
